Description This Vintage Hopi Mana Kachina Doll depicts the female Hemis in a traditional position with a wooden rasp and her water gourd at her feet. This will produce the recognizable sounds that accompany the dances on the plaza. With the decorated shawl she wears, she’s lovely. The hair is put up in Tewa-style knots (whorls). She is holding a basket of corn in her hands. She is 13″ tall and the base is signed by Everette Tawahongva, who is Hopi. Everett Tawahongva was born on 7-7-1933. A gifted master carver whose work has been featured in galleries and private homes throughout the country. He had been carving for over half a century and trained numerous up and coming Hopi carvers during his days.
