Description R.C. Ramey, sculptor and painter, lives on a ranch near Snowflake. He was born in Kenosha, Wis., and raised in West Virginia. He began sculpting and painting when, at the age of 5, he spent many hours confined to a hospital bed due to a serious illness. He later worked in the medical field in Portland, Ore. While on vacation in Phoenix, visiting an old patient friend he happened upon an art show and realized that he just might be able to make a living with his art. On his return to Oregon, he started with a few wildlife sculptures and sold out in three hours at his first art show. With that motivation, and at the age of 30, he left his job, packed his truck and moved to Arizona. His sculpted storytellers and western paintings are much in demand. This fun Santa sculpture was created in 2006 and has two precious children that Santa is telling stories to. It is 4 1/2″ tall and 3 1/4″ wide.
